New marking scheme for Writing Papers

Which exam: Cambridge First or Cambridge First for Schools?

Both exams follow exactly the same format and the level of the question papers is identical. The only difference is that the content and treatment of topics in Cambridge English First for Schools have been particularly targeted at the interest and experience of school-aged learners. Extended certification - recognising candidates' true achievement

Cambridge ESOL has made important enhancements in the way they present candidates’ results for many exams. ‘Extended certification’ will give many candidates additional credit for the language skills they have demonstrated and for what they can do with their language, and a clearer picture of how results relate to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). This will help universities, employers, government bodies and other organisations to make informed decisions and increase opportunities for candidates.

Test Day Photo for CAE from November 2011

New regulations from Cambridge ESOL require a TEST DAY photo for all candidates sitting CAE from November 2011
As of July 2012 a TEST DAY photo will be required for all Cambridge ESOL exams except KET for Schools, PET for Schools and FCE for Schools.
